A Lunch cum PLD was hosted by the Navy Foundation Pune Chapter at Sanjog Hall RSI Camp on 06 Oct 24 to welcome the Commandant NDA V Adm Gurcharan Singh AVSM NM, his wife Mrs Kamaljit Singh and mother Mrs Narinder Kaur, a Veer Naari, wife of late Cdr G S Chatha. On this occasion, the Commanding Officer of INS Shivaji, Cmde Sameer Chaudhry and Mrs Shelly Chaudhry were also welcomed. It was heartening to see a very large turnout of over 180 NFPC Members and spouses on this occasion.

At the outset, the Secretary NFPC welcomed the gathering and expressed the gratitude for the large turnout of Veterans/ Spouses and Veer Naaris. A talk on “Early signs of Cardiac issues, prevention and immediate action in case of heart attack” was given by Surg V Adm Kalra which was very educative and kept the audiences in rapt attention. The queries were subsequently attended to during the interaction later.

NFPC also felicitated a newly turned Octogenarian Cmde Narendra Kapur and Mrs Samiksha Kapur in true Puneri style. A Puneri topi and Shawl were gifted to the Octogenarian by V Adm Pasricha. A memento was presented alongwith the IN crest for Octogenarians to Cmde Narendra Kapur. Mrs Samiksha Kapur was presented a bouquet by Mrs Aruna Korde.

On arrival of the Guests of Honour, they were received by the President NFPC. The Secretary thereafter welcomed them and their spouses and briefly gave an introduction about their Service career and the ladies too. A memento was presented to both of them by the President V Adm Jaywant Korde. Bouquets were presented to Mrs Narinder Kaur, Veer Naari by Mrs Kanwal Bedi, to Mrs Kamaljit Singh by Mrs Aruna Korde and Mrs Shelly Chaudhry by Mrs Rohini Subedhar.

Thereafter the Guests of honour and their ladies interacted freely with the Naval Veterans, Spouses and the Veer Naaris.

A sumptuous lunch had been organised for the gathering and view Navrathri, a separate counter for Vrat food was also provisioned.

The Guests and members departed with pleasant memories of enjoyable time spent with Colleagues and friends.
