Cmde Hitendra Singh

1. With profound grief and sorrow, we deeply regret to inform passing away of Commodore Hitendra Singh (40165-H), after prolonged battle with Interstitial Lung Disease, succumbed to Cardiac Arrest at 1600h on Monday, 14th July 2025 at Army Hospital R&R, Delhi Cantonment. He was 84 years of age.
2. Commodore Hitendra Singh (40165-H) ex-18th Course NDA, ‘F’ Squadron was commissioned into the Engineering Branch of the Indian Navy on 1st July 1962 and retired from Indian Coast Guard on 31st January 2001 on completion of 39 years of meritorious service.
3. During his illustrious career with Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard, he held several important appointments details of which are as follows: –
(a)Afloat Appointments:-
(i) INS Mysore for Engine Room Watch Keeping.
(ii) INS Tir for Watch Keeping duties.
(iii) INS Cauvery as Senior Engineer.
(iv)INS Himgiri as Engineer Officer.
(b) Ashore Appointments:-
(i) Duties with Naval Dockyard, Bombay.
(ii) Duties with Headquarters, Western Naval Command.
(c) Duties with Indian Coast Guard:-
(i) On Permanent Secondment he joined Indian Coast Guard on 17th August 1981 in the rank of Commandant.
(ii) He was promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General on 29th May 1986.
(iii) He was decorated with Presidential Award of President’s Tatrakshak Medal.
(iv) On superannuation he retired on 31st January 2001 as the Director (Material), CGHQ.
4. Funeral and Last Rites of Late Commodore Hitendra Singh were performed on Tuesday, 15th July 2025 at Lodhi Electric Crematorium, New Delhi.
5. We pray to Almighty God to grant eternal Peace to the noble soul of Late Commodore Hitendra Singh at his final resting place.
6. On behalf of President and all members of NFPC we convey our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to all members of the grieving Family of Late Commodore Hitendra Singh and pray to Almighty God to grant them peace, solace, strength, courage, fortitude and forbearance to bear pain of irreplaceable loss.
