Dear Members,
1. It’s with profound grief and sorrow, we inform you about the sad demise of Cdr. Anand Vithal Badve (Retd), who passed away on 03 Feb at Florida, US after a brief illness. He was 88 yrs old.
2. Commissioned into the Electrical branch, he was from the first batch to be directly recruited from college after getting engineering degree. He was thereafter selected for the Commonwealth Scholarship to do his post graduation at Imperial College, London. After this, he was deputed to Bath, UK to work at the Royal Admiralty. Subsequently he was transferred to Delhi as a member of the Design team for Leander Class frigates under then V Adm Kulkarni.
3. During the 1971 war, he was sent from Delhi to Bombay on special duty. He had served on INS Kirpan and the survey ship INS Darshak. He retired in the rank of Commander from Vizag after completing 20 years of service.
4. On behalf of all members of NFPC, we offer our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and pray to God Almighty to give the family Peace, strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
