An Exclusive Trek for NFPC Members, Families and Friends to Duke’s Nose via Khandala

Duke’s Nose, also known as Nagphani, is one of the most iconic viewpoints in the Sahyadris, located near Khandala and Lonavala. Rising to approximately 3,200 feet, this scenic trek is a favourite among beginners and experienced trekkers alike, offering a rewarding blend of natural beauty, adventure, and panoramic mountain vistas. We trek to Duke’s Nose via the quieter Khandala route, winding through forest sections, rocky paths, waterfalls, and gradual ascents surrounded by lush greenery.

As you approach the summit, the trail leads to the famous cliff resembling the hood of a cobra, from which Nagphani derives its name. The viewpoint offers spectacular views of the Western Ghats, the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, Khopoli town, and the valleys stretching into the distance.

During the monsoon, mist, waterfalls, and vibrant green landscapes transform the trek into a breathtaking experience, while winter rewards trekkers with crystal-clear views. The summit is also a popular destination for rock climbing and rappelling, making Duke’s Nose an ideal adventure for nature lovers, photographers, and thrill-seekers looking for a memorable day in the Sahyadris.
