Vice Admiral Girish Luthra, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Naval Command hosted a lunch at the AFMC Mess on 11 Jun 2017, where he interacted with veterans from the Navy Foundation Pune Chapter (NFPC). A maiden initiative of its kind, the event witnessed an enthusiastic response with over 160 guests in attendance. The CinC, during his address, informed the veterans about the latest developments and initiatives in the Navy in general and the Western Naval Command in particular. Recognising the contribution of the veterans, he stressed the importance of the veteran community acting as a strong bridge and interface with the citizens of the country to create greater awareness of the Armed Forces in general and the Indian Navy in particular.
