An NFPC get-together was held at Sanjog Hall, RSAMI Pune on 27 Sep 2026. Over 110 enthusiastic Veterans, spouses and Veer Naaris attended the event. It was a privilege to host Cmde Sumeet Kapoor, Cmde NV, who graced the occasion and was formally welcomed.

The proceedings began with the Secretary NFPC introducing Cmde NV, the Guest of Honour, to the members. Thereafter, Cmde Kapoor eloquently addressed the attentive gathering and gave an insightful and lucid presentation, covering the following aspects:-

•⁠ ⁠Strengthening of Navy Foundation

• Pension related problems encountered by Veterans using SPARSH
• ECHS-related issues with an endeavour to empanel more hospitals.
• Importance of informing veterans’ spouses of the details of login IDs of SPARSH, ECHS, etc
• Various grants available from INBA
• Various magazines being published by DNV
• Army helpline number is 155306, which applies to Navy and Air Force also
• Creation of a new INPA website for employment opportunities
• Grievance redressal website was being developed for posting grievances online
• Retired Officers ID card

On completion of his address, there was an interactive question-and-answer session. Most queries raised by members concerned SPARSH and ECHS empanelment. Cmde NV addressed all issues and assured that once these issues were formally received from NFPC, they would be taken up with DOP/ DPA/ ECHS for resolution as required.

Three octogenarians: Cdr Sudhakar Dharmadhikari, Lt Cdr MM Rehman and Lt Cdr Balwant Singh were felicitated in true Puneri satkar style, with shawls and crests presented to them by VAdm Pasricha, Surg VAdm Kalra, RAdm Sanjay Vadgaonkar and RAdm CS Patham. Cmde NV handed over personalised letters to the octogenarians, thanking them for their service. Following this, VAdm Pasricha presented an NFPC memento on behalf of NFPCt o Cmde Kapoor.

The get-together also included two entertaining group games and a game for husbands, conducted by Mrs Surabhii Aplesh, w/o Cdr Aplesh Mohan, which saw enthusiastic participation. Items handmade by differently abled women and children were given as prizes to the winners.

The get-together was followed by a PLD and a sumptuous continental buffet lunch. Copies of Sagar Samvad magazine were also distributed. During the lunch, spot prizes were given to the Members in the form of handmade dark chocolate potlis.
