Capt VN Sridharan

1. With profound grief and sorrow, we deeply regret to inform the sad demise of Captain VN Sridharan (02758-T) on Thursday, 2nd April 2026 at Welcare Hospital Kochi due to Cancer. He was 61 years of age.

2. Late Captain VN Sridharan born on 22 Apr 1964. He was from the 64th course of NDA (India Squadron) and was commissioned on 01 July 1984. He did his Midshipman time on INS Dunagiri and watchkeeping on INS Udaygiri. He specialised in Communication and EW. His other afloat appointments include IN Ships Androth, Mangrol, Ganga and Bedi (as CO).

3. His shore appointments include Signal School, CABS as SO (C), Officer Commanding of WEU 32 (2N Det Chennai), WEU 33 (2W DET Goa), and he finally retired from WEU (HQ 33) Kerala on 30 Apr 2020. He has done Technical Management Course at Naval War College, Goa. He was part of a team that successfully installed Ajanta Simulator in Signal School and for which he was commended by FOCINC South. He is qualified in Cyber security, GMDSS and also holds certificate of Master Mariner.

4. He had a passion for music and had qualified grade 3 of Trinity School of Music in Keyboard. An avid sportsman, his favourite game was Table Tennis.

5. We pray to Almighty God to grant eternal Peace to the noble soul of Late Captain VN Sridharan at his final resting place.

6. On behalf of NFPC, we convey our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to all members of the grieving family and pray to Almighty God to grant them peace, solace, comfort, strength, courage, fortitude and forbearance to bear pain of irreplaceable loss.

8. NOK: Mother – Mother- Mrs VN Vatsala; Elder Brother- Gp Capt VN Sainath (Retd); Younger sister- Sarala Vasudevan
He had no children.
