With profound grief and sorrow, we regret to inform the sad demise of Lcdr Kantish Jadhav at Pune on the evening of 21 February 2026.
Lt Cdr Kantish Jadhav ( 01764 H ) was born on 06 Jun 1954. He joined Navy in Jan 1976 and was from the 12th course Naval Academy where he was awarded Gold Medal. He was commissioned on 01 July 1977 and joined the Aviation branch and was a fully qualified pilot on Islander a/c and IL 38. He had a long stint at Garuda as part of the IN 550 squadron.
Post WKC from INS Ranjit, he also commanded SDB T61 at Goa; however he subsequently left the Navy early in 1992 due to family requirements. Subsequently he joined Air India and retired as Senior Captain.
A pleasant gentleman and always smiling, he was an exceptional sportsman and had represented Navy in Cricket.
The funeral was held on 22 Feb at St. Paul’s Church, GPO, Camp Pune, which was followed by Burial at the Indian Christian Cemetery, Hadapsar Pune.
