With profound grief and heavy heart, regret to inform sad demise of our Naval Veteran Cdr SM Yusuf, NM(G) (40863-W), 69 yrs on Sunday 21 Jun 2026 in Saifee Hosp Mumbai due Cardiac arrest, leaving behind many to mourn his transit to higher realm.
The Officer had a glorious career in the Navy. After his initial appointments he served in WOT Mumbai and later as QAO EFS at Mumbai. He has also served on INS Vikrant and ashore appointments in INS Shivaji and Porbandar. In a mine sweeper accident he was awarded NM Gallantry for his damage control actions. Post retirement he worked in Mumbai Port Trust till superannuation.
On behalf of President and all the members of NFPC we offer our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to his wife Mrs Nilofer, daughters Ms Rimsha and Ms Insha Shaikh (Both married and settled in Pune and Kandivali resp), and the grieving family members. We pray that they bear the irreplaceable loss with courage and fortitude.
Last rites and burial were performed on 22 Jun 2026.
