Cdr SP Singh

1. With profound grief and sorrow, we deeply regret to inform passing away of Commander Surendra Pratap Singh (00804-A) at 2240h on 23rd April 2026 due to Chronic Liver Disorder and Pulmonary Disorder at Medanta – The Medicity, Gurgaon – 122001. He was 79 years of age.

2. Commander SP Singh (00804-A) was commissioned into the Naval Aviation Branch of the Indian Navy on 31st December 1967. On completion of 26 years of meritorious service, he retired on 26th December 1993.

3. During his illustrious career, he held several important Afloat and Ashore appointments which were as follows: –

(a) Afloat Appointments:

(i) INS Kirpan for Watchkeeping Certificate.
(ii) INS Hansa (P) Additional as INS Investigator Flight.
(iii) INS Shakti (P) as Executive Officer.
(iv) INS Vikrant (P) as AO.

(b) Ashore Appointments:

(i) INS Venduruthy, Additional for Flight training.
(ii) INS India, Additional for PTF duties.
(iii) INS Hansa for duties with INAS 551 Squadron.
(iv) INS Venduruthy for Sub Lieutenant professional courses.
(v) INS Garuda (P) as Officer-in-Charge SFNA.
(vi) INS Garuda (P) as Squadron Commander, INAS 300 Squadron.
(vii) INS Garuda as Commander Air.
(viii) INS India (P) as Deputy Director of Naval Air Staff, NHQ.
(ix) INS Venduruthy Additional as Command Aviation Officer, Headquarters, Southern Naval Command.
(x) INS India, Additional for duties with Naval Headquarters.

4. Funeral and Last Rites of Late Commander SP Singh were performed on 25th April 2026 at Brar Square Cremation Ground, Delhi Cantonment, New Delhi – 110010.

5. We pray to Almighty God to grant eternal Peace to the noble soul of Late Commander SP Singh at his final resting place.

6. On behalf of NFPC, we convey our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to all members of the grieving Family of Late Commander SP Singh and pray to Almighty God to grant them peace, solace, comfort, strength, courage, fortitude and forbearance to bear pain of irreplaceable loss.
