With profound grief and sorrow, we convey the sad and untimely demise of Capt Sujoy Mukerji (50721-Z) due to prolonged illness in his Kolkata residence at Jal Vayu Towers in the early hours of 18th Mar 26.

Born on 21 May 1958, Capt Sujoy Mukerji joined Navy on 10 Aug 1981.

During his illustrious career in the IN , he was deputed to erstwhile USSR as part of the commissioning crew of second of the 1241RE (Veer Class) missile boat INS Nirbhik. He had also did a tenure onboard INS Rana in addition to tenures at INS Venduruthy in Kochi, FOMA organisation in Mumbai, and Quality Assurance organisation in Kolkata. His last assignment was in ETMA Vizag. Thereafter he took pre mature retirement and joined TCS in Bhubneshwar in 2009 where he served till retirement.

He is survived by his daughter Aurpita (Mini) and son Aureen. His wife Mrs Archana Mukerji had predeceased him a few years back.

Cremation was conducted on 18th March, and tributes were paid by many friends and acquaintances who attended the funeral in a dignified farewell ceremony, befitting a Naval Veteran. Wreaths were laid on behalf of the IN and NF Kolkata Chapter too.
