AGM 2026

The AGM 2026 of Navy Foundation Pune Chapter was held on 31 May 2026 at Sanjog Hall, RSAMI, Pune. The event saw an overwhelming response, with Veterans turning up in large numbers along with their spouses.

Prior to the AGM, a presentation was made by Cdr Satyajit Mishra, Officers Pension Section at NAVPEN on the SPARSH Pension System, especially the aspects which veterans needed to be aware of such as correction of erroneous data and the procedure for annual life certification.

Following the presentation, the Secretary brought the gathering to order and the General Body paid tribute by observing one minute of silence to the Veterans / Spouses and Veer Naaris, who had attained Sadgati since last AGM.

The Proceedings of AGM commenced with the Opening Address of the President NFPC. He started with a moving tribute to the late Mrs Uma Pasricha, who had as per her last wishes nobly donated her organs and body to the AFMC for medical research. He then gave an overview of the various initiatives and activities undertaken by NFPC since the last AGM, including the cricket match played between the NFPC and NFMC on 08 Feb 2026, which ended with the latter narrowly winning. He also gave a presentation on the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Indian Navy Maritime Museum that was planned to be built on a plot of land allotted by the Army in the Pune Cantonment, the foundation stone of which had been laid by Adm Dinesh Tripathi, the Chief of Naval Staff, last year.

Thereafter, Secretary NFPC submitted the Annual Report of the activities of NFPC during the past year such as the Musical Evening at Santosh Kumar Hall, NDA (13 Sep 2025), 6th Adm JG Nadkarni Memorial Lecture delivered by the CNS (30 Nov 2025), Laying of Foundation Stone of the Indian Navy Maritime Museum by the CNS (30 Nov 2025), Trek and Flag Hoisting at the Malhargarh Fort (Navy Day 2025), and Veterans foreign tour to Japan.. The General Body approved the Minutes of the last AGM, Activity Report and Audited Balance Sheet for the year 2025-26 before moving on to a discussion of old and new Agenda Points. The President also highlighted that the NFPC had employed a new auditor, whose performance had been found to be very satisfactory. Furthermore, the NFPC had also been now established as a Trust, for which there would need to be certain changes brought about in the Memorandum of Association. The President also stated that Bank of Baroda, with which the Chapter was holding its accounts was found to be lacking in efficiency and following archaic processes. Hence, he proposed that the accounts be moved to another bank, which could also be one of the Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs), which was accepted by the General Body.

Consequent to the tenures of the President and Treasurer NFPC completing the mandatory three years, election of new office bearers was falling due. It was proposed by Vice Admiral JS Bedi that in view of the outstanding efforts of the Management Committee, especially in steering the important maritime museum project and to ensure continuity, the present dispensation be re-elected for a further period of 3 years, which was unanimously accepted by the General Body.

RAdm Ravindra Nadkarni delivered the Vote of Thanks.
