NFPC Milan with Cmde (Dr) Arogyaswami Paulraj (Retd)

The NFPC organised a Milan with cocktails and dinner at the Combined Officers Mess, RSI Golf Course on 05 Dec 2023 in honour of Cmde (Dr) Arogyaswami Paulraj, AVSM, VSM (Retd), Professor Emeritus Stanford University USA along with his wife Mrs Nirmala Paulraj. Cmde Paulraj is renowned throughout the Indian Navy as the officer who was responsible for the development of our indigenous sonar APSOH which was inducted into service in 1983. At that time, it was considered one of the best sonars used by world navies and its successors continue to be fitted on IN ships to this day. Post retirement in 1991, Cmde Paulraj moved to Stanford University, USA where he subsequently gained fame and recognition as the inventor of the MIMO technology which is used by high speed WiFI and mobile networks today. He has won several awards for his achievements including the Marconi Award in 2014, the Alexander Graham Bell medal in 2011 and the Padma Bhushan in 2010.
