Capt Balbir Singh

Dear Members,

1. With profound grief and sorrow, we deeply regret to inform passing away of Captain (TS) Balbir (01768-T) at 0230h on Friday, 13th January 2026 due to Cardiac Arrest. He was 72 years of age.

2. Captain (TS) Balbir Singh (01768-T) ex-12th Course Naval Academy was commissioned into the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy on 1st July 1977. After initial professional courses he specialised as Gunnery and Missile Warfare Officer.

3. During his illustrious career, he held several important Afloat and Ashore appointments which are as follows: –

(a) Afloat Appointments:

(i) INS Shakti for Watchkeeping Certificate.
(ii) INS Krishna for Watchkeeping Certificate.
(iii) INS Krishna for Watchkeeping Duties.
(iv) INS Kavarati for Watchkeeping Duties.
(v) INS Vikrant for Watchkeeping Duties.
(vi) INS Kiltan as Gunnery Officer.
(vi) INS Anjadip as Gunnery Officer.
(vii) INS Ranvir as Gunnery Officer

(b) Ashore Appointments:

(i) INS Garuda for Pilot Training.
(ii) INS Satvahana for duties.
(iii) INS Angre for duties.
(iv) INS Circars for duties with Weapons Acceptance and Testing & Tuning Team.
(v) Commanding Officer, INS Jarawa.
(vi) Headquarters, Western Naval Command as Staff Officer (Movements).
(vii) Naval Headquarters as Deputy Director Manpower Planning & Recruitment.
(viii) Headquarters, Western Naval Command as Command Gunnery Officer.
(ix) Naval Headquarters for duties as Joint Director of Administration.

4. Funeral and Last Rites of Late Captain (TS) Balbir Singh were performed on 14th January 2026 at his native place, Chann Arorian, Kathua, Jammu.

5. We pray to Almighty God to grant eternal Peace to the noble soul of Late Captain Balbir Singh at his final resting place.

6. We convey our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to all members of the grieving Family of Late Captain Balbir Singh and pray to Almighty God to grant them peace, solace, comfort, strength, courage, fortitude and forbearance to bear pain of irreplaceable loss.
