1. With profound grief and sorrow, we regret to inform the sad demise of Capt Gregory Prince Joseph PM 10 July 2025, at Command Hospital Pune after a prolonged battle with Cancer. He was 66 years old.
2. Capt Gregory Joseph was a truly cheerful and loving soul, whose “fauji” dreams began at the Charlie Sqn of the 59th NDA Course. Commissioned on 01 Jan 1982, he found his true calling in Naval Aviation, soaring with the Chetak Angels & Kamov Eagles. He was also a proud member of the INS Ranvijay commissioning crew and was among the first batch of Indian Kamov-28 aviators.
3. His prowess and performance merited his selection to the multi engine ASW Kamov 28 helicopter. Trained in Kacha in the erstwhile USSR, he qualified as a full-fledged night ASW Pilot.
4. He was a cheerful person with an infectious smile that touched many lives while serving onboard INS Mysore, INS Dega, INS Utkrosh, INS Sharda, INS Rajali, INS Hansa, INS Garuda, INS Kunjali, ICGAS 842 & INS Shikra. His passion for flying never wavered. Ironically his final sortie was on his very last day of service.
5. Capt Gregory Joseph’s lively persona, charming smile, and true gentlemanly nature will be deeply missed.
6. Funeral and Last Rites of Late Capt Gregory Prince Joseph was performed on Saturday, 12 Jul at 1100 hrs at Muktidham crematorium, Golibar Maidan Pune.
7.
