With profound grief and heavy heart, regret to Inform sad demise of LtCdr Ram Avtar Singh (83930-Z), 80 yrs who breathed his last on  17 Jun 2025 in Fortis Hospital Mulund, leaving behind many to mourn his transit to higher realms.

The officer had a glorious career in the Navy. He joined Indian Navy (Boy Entry Scheme) on 15 Sep 1960 at the age of 15 and a half years. He served on IN ships Tir, Krishna, Delhi and Beas in seagoing appointments in Gunnery branch. Upon selection in Provost branch in 1966, he served in shore establishments at Kunjali, Angre, Agrani and onboard IN ships Andaman, Mysore and Amba. He was commissioned as SD ( Reg) in 1977 and thereafter tenanted appointments as ANPM/ DNPM at Mandovi, Netaji Subhash, Jarawa and MO (Mumbai).

He will be deeply missed and is condoled by his wife Mrs Sneh Lata Singh, daughter Poonam Kochhar and son-in – law Capt Kuldeep Kochhar ( Retd), son Anil Rajput (Chief Engineer, Merchant Navy), son Shailendra Pratap Singh (Director UBS, London) and son Vikramadetya Singh (General Manager Westcott Hotel, Dubai)
