1. With profound grief and sorrow, we regret to inform the sad demise of Surg Vice Admiral GK Soni, at Pune on 16th June 2025. He was 96 years old.

2. Surg Vice Admiral GK Soni, was born in 1929, at Pathankot, saw the turmoil of partition, and various wars.

3. After his medical education in Tamil Nadu, he joined the Army Medical Corps and went on to become an accomplished Surgeon. He was actually operating till about 7-8 years ago. Having served in many Surgical units in various Army establishments, he retired as DGMS Navy.

4. Always known for his very friendly nature and straightforward approach, he was very active both professionally as well as socially even after retirement.

5. His daughter Anita was married to a Naval Officer, Gerard Noronha who, unfortunately, passed away a few years ago.

6. Funeral and Last Rites of Late Surg Vice Admiral Soni were performed on 17 June 2025 at Salunkhe Vihar crematorium, Pune.

7. On behalf of President and all members of NFPC, we convey our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to his daughter Mrs Anita Noronha and all members of the grieving family. We pray to Almighty God to grant them peace, comfort, strength, courage and fortitude to bear the pain of the irreplaceable loss.
