1. With profound grief and sorrow, we deeply regret to inform passing away of Vice Admiral Rajeshwar Nath (00407-Z), PVSM, AVSM, VSM at 1200h on Sunday, 18th May 2025, peacefully at Neo Hospital, Sector – 50, NOIDA after a battle with Parkinson and Multiple Organ complications. He was 83 years of age.
2. VAdm Rajeshwar Nath (40175-F) was commissioned into the Corps of Constructors in Engineering Branch of the Indian Navy on 27th July 1964. He was recognised as one of the towering figures in the field of naval architecture and warship design. A mentor to generations of Naval Architects, his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the honour of working with him. Finally, he rose to be the Controller, Warship Production & Acquisitions bringing a brilliant naval career to a close when he retired on 31 Jul 2002.
3. During his illustrious career spanning over 38 years he held several key appointments and positions details of which are as follows: –
(a) Career Profile:
(i) INS Angre for attachment with various departments in preparation for specialised courses overseas.
(ii) Overseas Specialised Courses and Post Graduation course at UK.
(iii) Technical Adviser at Naval Dockyard, Bombay.
(iv) Duties with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Bombay.
(v) Assistant Director, Directorate of Naval Architecture.
(vi) Officer-in-Charge, Naval Construction Wing at IIT, Kharagpur.
(vii). Officer- in- Charge, Naval Construction Wing at IIT, Delhi.
(viii) Deputy Director, Directorate General, Naval Design.
(ix) Joint Director, Directorate General, Naval Design.
(x) Deputy GM (Production) and (Quality Assurance), Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam.
(xi) General Manager, Warship Overseeing Team (Calcutta).
(xii) Director, Naval Construction, NHQ
(xiii) Director, Directorate General of Naval Design.
(xiv) The Director General Naval Design.

4. Until the end, Late Vice Admiral Rajeshwar Nath continued to serve the poor, needy and old age members of his Society through The Earth Saviours Foundation, Bandhwari Village (Gurgaon-Faridabad Road), Near TERI Golf Course, Gurugram.
5. Funeral and Last Rites of Late Vice Admiral Rajeshwar Nath were performed on 20th May 2025 at Brar Square Cremation Ground, Delhi Cantonment, New Delhi.
6. We pray to Almighty God to grant eternal Peace to the noble soul of Late Vice Admiral Rajeshwar Nath at his final resting place.
