The AGM 2024 of Navy Foundation Pune Chapter was held on 19 May 2024 at the lush green surroundings of the Army Golf Course/ Composite Officers Mess, Pune. Despite the inclement weather, the event witnessed an overwhelming response, wherein Veterans turned up in large numbers and tt was heartening to see them meeting up with old colleagues and coursemates.

At the outset, the Secretary brought the gathering to order and the General Body paid tribute to the Veterans and Spouses who had proceeded to heavenly abode since last AGM, by observing one minute of silence.

The Proceedings of AGM commenced with the Opening Address of the President NFPC. He brought out the initiatives taken since the last AGM to improve upon the facilities and well being of the Veterans at Pune and surrounding areas. He urged the members to login to ESM Handshake portal. Thereafter, Secretary NFPC submitted the Annual Report of the activities of NFPC during the past year, focusing on highlights of the events. On completion the General Body approved the Minutes of the last AGM, Activity Report and Audited Balance Sheet for the year 2023-2024.

Thereafter Agenda Points were taken up for discussions. Commodore Sridar Ramaswamy (Retd) was unanimously elected the Secretary of the NFPC. Members also came forward, volunteering to take on the responsibilities of Area Coordinators.

Felicitation of three Octogenarians was done in a traditional Puneri Style. The following Octogenarians were felicitated:-

• VAdm Lowe
• Cmde Bhagwat
• Cmde Joshi

The members of NFPC also bid farewell to Mrs and V Adm Ajay Kochhar AVSM NM, Commandant NDA. On the occasion, VAdm SCS Bangara (Retd) presented a Memento to Commandant NDA.

The ‘Smiling Souls’, an organization based at Mumbai that looks after the well being of Veterans above 55 years of age, interacted with the spouses with some fun-filled games when the AGM was on. They later interacted with the Veterans too.

The event was followed by Cocktails and Dinner.
